Definitions & Departures

excited
adjective
feeling very happy and enthusiastic:
Are you getting excited about your holiday?

I kid you not, the first example of the word excited underneath was wholly appropriate this morning. My answer would be "well, yes".

My only negative? leaving the children (albeit in the safe and loving hands of my mother) and knowing that for a few moments after leaving home en route to Heathrow, I will be a blubbering wreck. I have already apologised to Mr H for this momentary, and completely necessary, lapse in excitement.

So lovely souls happily scribing away in blogland, adieu.....I will beseige you with details of the trip upon return.

tag....

I've been tagged by Emma
“Open the 6th picture folder on your computer, open the 6th photo and blog it. Write something about it. Then tag 6 more people to do the same”

The sixth folder in the picture folder on my computer is Amsterdam 2006 - when Mr H and I had a long weekend away from the children. I loved and loathed Amsterdam at the same time, loved the architecture, the canals, the bridges, the history; loathed the hustle and bustle, the tacky souvenir shops, the Euro (!). It was a glorious weekend weatherwise, we ate well, drank well, slept well and had a good time just being together and enjoying each other's company whilst being adults and not just mama and daddy.
The picture is of our hotel room, you can't see the bathroom but it was fabulous, all glass enclosed, just perfect after a hot shower to draw a smiley face on the steamed up walls.

Since then we've been to Budapest for a long weekend, and next week we're off to Vietnam for 10 days - you may wonder, why go off without your children? I love my children more than could ever have been possibly imagined, but sometimes, just sometimes, you need to have a break from being a mama and a daddy and rediscover just who you are without them.

(Although saying that, I do have plans for a summer holiday this year......)
So I tag tequilamonkey, Sarah, Julia, Suse, Lynn and Amanda (if any of them have the time - it took me three days to do mine!!!)
